# Matthews vs Crochet Patterns－Row Counter

Matthews and Crochet Patterns－Row Counter both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 95% of Matthews's written reviews are positive against 53% of Crochet Patterns－Row Counter's. Matthews also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 19) and ads (none vs shown). Crochet Patterns－Row Counter's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (1.2K vs 103). On price, rating and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Crochet Patterns－Row Counter sells 18 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month. Matthews asks for nothing beyond the download.

Crochet Patterns－Row Counter holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Crochet Patterns－Row Counter has 1.2K ratings behind it against 103, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 95% of Matthews's written reviews are positive against 53% of Crochet Patterns－Row Counter's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Matthews ships an update every 2 months, Crochet Patterns－Row Counter every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
