# Twingate vs NetBird P2P VPN

The clearest difference is rating: Twingate at 4.4 against NetBird P2P VPN's 3.9. NetBird P2P VPN's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 5 weeks) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Twingate holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.9. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 34 and 56 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 44% of Twingate's written reviews are positive against 46% of NetBird P2P VPN's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Twingate ships an update every 5 weeks, NetBird P2P VPN every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
