# CompTIA Security+ Exam Prep vs Rocket Watch

The clearest difference is ads: Rocket Watch at none against CompTIA Security+ Exam Prep's shown. Rocket Watch also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 3 weeks). CompTIA Security+ Exam Prep's advantage is ratings volume (6.6K vs 3) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CompTIA Security+ Exam Prep sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and Rocket Watch sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for CompTIA Security+ Exam Prep against 5.0 for Rocket Watch. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CompTIA Security+ Exam Prep has 6.6K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

CompTIA Security+ Exam Prep ships an update every 3 weeks, Rocket Watch every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
