# Stereo vs Tail!

The clearest difference is ads: Stereo at none against Tail!'s shown. Stereo also leads on ratings volume (10K vs 190) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Tail!'s advantage is review sentiment (80% vs 46%) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 11 days). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Stereo against 4.5 for Tail!. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Stereo has 10K ratings behind it against 190, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 46% of Stereo's written reviews are positive against 80% of Tail!'s.

Stereo ships an update every 11 days, Tail! every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
