# Pics21 vs Focus Lock

The clearest difference is update cadence: Pics21 at every 2 days against Focus Lock's every 5 days. Pics21 also leads on ratings volume (6 vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pics21 sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Focus Lock sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Pics21 against 5.0 for Focus Lock. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pics21 has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Pics21 ships an update every 2 days, Focus Lock every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
