# Boomerang vs Loop

The clearest difference is rating: Boomerang at 4.5 against Loop's 1.0. Boomerang also leads on update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 19 months) and ratings volume (4.6K vs 1). Loop's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Boomerang sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Loop sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Boomerang holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Boomerang has 4.6K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Boomerang ships an update every 5 weeks, Loop every 19 months. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
