# EMDEC vs MBX

The clearest difference is update cadence: MBX at every 5 days against EMDEC's every 6 weeks. EMDEC's advantage is iOS requirement (8.0 vs 14.0.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

EMDEC ships an update every 6 weeks, MBX every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and September 18, 2026 respectively.
