# OKTAGON vs Playlive

The clearest difference is rating: OKTAGON at 5.0 against Playlive's 2.5. OKTAGON also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.4). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

OKTAGON holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 2 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of OKTAGON's written reviews are positive against 4% of Playlive's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

OKTAGON ships an update every 2 months, Playlive monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
