# Mantis Laser Academy vs Range Stats

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Range Stats at 100% against Mantis Laser Academy's 69%. Range Stats also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Mantis Laser Academy's advantage is ratings volume (4.1K vs 7) and iOS requirement (15 vs 26.2). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mantis Laser Academy sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Range Stats sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Range Stats holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mantis Laser Academy has 4.1K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 69% of Mantis Laser Academy's written reviews are positive against 100% of Range Stats's.

Mantis Laser Academy ships an update every 3 weeks, Range Stats every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
