# Pie Tap vs Zio Al's

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Zio Al's at 100% against Pie Tap's 50%. Zio Al's also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (weekly vs every 4 months). Pie Tap's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.4) and ratings volume (1.2K vs 7). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Pie Tap holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pie Tap has 1.2K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Pie Tap's written reviews are positive against 100% of Zio Al's's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Pie Tap ships an update every 4 months, Zio Al's weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
