# Pie Tap vs TotSpot

Pie Tap and TotSpot both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of TotSpot's written reviews are positive against 50% of Pie Tap's. TotSpot also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 4 months). Pie Tap's advantage is ratings volume (1.2K vs 6) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.5). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

TotSpot holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pie Tap has 1.2K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 50% of Pie Tap's written reviews are positive against 100% of TotSpot's.

Pie Tap ships an update every 4 months, TotSpot every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
