# Random Dungeon vs Cat Genome

The clearest difference is monetization model: Random Dungeon at free against Cat Genome's free with in-app purchases. Random Dungeon also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 26.0). Cat Genome's advantage is ratings volume (4 vs 1). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Random Dungeon sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and Cat Genome sells 7 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Random Dungeon against 5.0 for Cat Genome. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1 and 4 respectively.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
