# Amaru vs Alien Evolution

The clearest difference is ads: Amaru at none against Alien Evolution's shown. Amaru also leads on ratings volume (1.4K vs 19) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). Alien Evolution's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 86%). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Amaru sells 14 one-off in-app purchases and Alien Evolution sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Amaru against 4.8 for Alien Evolution. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Amaru has 1.4K ratings behind it against 19, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 86% of Amaru's written reviews are positive against 100% of Alien Evolution's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
