# Talkies vs Talk.AI

The clearest difference is rating: Talk.AI at 4.4 against Talkies's 2.0. Talk.AI also leads on ratings volume (1.6K vs 4). Talkies's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.6). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Talkies sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and Talk.AI sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Talk.AI holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Talk.AI has 1.6K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 27% of Talkies's written reviews are positive against 21% of Talk.AI's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Talkies ships an update every 3 weeks, Talk.AI every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
