# TPass vs i

The clearest difference is rating: TPass at 4.5 against i's 2.0. TPass also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 15 months). i's advantage is monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

TPass holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TPass has 791 ratings behind it against 34, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 25% of TPass's written reviews are positive against 0% of i's.

TPass ships an update every 2 weeks, i every 15 months. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
