# Bagpipe Tutorial vs Ultimate Piper

The clearest difference is update cadence: Ultimate Piper at every 10 days against Bagpipe Tutorial's every 3 months. Bagpipe Tutorial's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (8 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bagpipe Tutorial sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month and Ultimate Piper sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Bagpipe Tutorial holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bagpipe Tutorial has 8 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 98% of Bagpipe Tutorial's written reviews are positive against 100% of Ultimate Piper's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Bagpipe Tutorial ships an update every 3 months, Ultimate Piper every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
