# Doodle vs Simple Drawing Pad

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Simple Drawing Pad at none against Doodle's 2. Simple Drawing Pad also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 67%) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 26.0). Doodle's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.5 vs 4.1). On price, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Doodle sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Simple Drawing Pad asks for nothing beyond the download.

Doodle holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Doodle has 46K ratings behind it against 36, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Doodle's written reviews are positive against 100% of Simple Drawing Pad's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
