# ThermoWorks vs Monster Remote

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Monster Remote at 100% against ThermoWorks's 65%. Monster Remote also leads on update cadence (every 6 days vs monthly). ThermoWorks's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ratings volume (17K vs 19). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Monster Remote sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. ThermoWorks asks for nothing beyond the download.

ThermoWorks holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ThermoWorks has 17K ratings behind it against 19, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of ThermoWorks's written reviews are positive against 100% of Monster Remote's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ThermoWorks ships an update monthly, Monster Remote every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
