# ThermoWorks vs Oklahoma Reader

The clearest difference is ratings volume: ThermoWorks at 17K against Oklahoma Reader's 7. ThermoWorks also leads on device support (4 vs 2) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.6). Oklahoma Reader's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs monthly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Oklahoma Reader holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ThermoWorks has 17K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two.

ThermoWorks ships an update monthly, Oklahoma Reader every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
