# iBet Golfing vs Simple Handicap

The clearest difference is monetization model: Simple Handicap at free with in-app purchases against iBet Golfing's subscription. Simple Handicap also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (383 vs 26). iBet Golfing's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. iBet Golfing sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Simple Handicap sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

iBet Golfing holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Simple Handicap has 383 ratings behind it against 26, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 88% of iBet Golfing's written reviews are positive against 82% of Simple Handicap's.

iBet Golfing ships an update every 2 months, Simple Handicap fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
