# Gridy vs Countdown

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Gridy at none against Countdown's 3. Countdown's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 23 months) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Countdown sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Gridy asks for nothing beyond the download.

Gridy ships an update every 23 months, Countdown weekly. The most recent releases landed on June 4, 2026 and September 18, 2026 respectively.
