# Maltz Auctions vs DirectBids

The clearest difference is rating: DirectBids at 5.0 against Maltz Auctions's 4.1. Maltz Auctions's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 6 months). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

DirectBids holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Maltz Auctions has 67 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Maltz Auctions ships an update every 6 weeks, DirectBids every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
