# Speed Flow vs Type Run

The clearest difference is ads: Speed Flow at none against Type Run's shown. Speed Flow also leads on review sentiment (50% vs 21%). Type Run's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 26 months) and ratings volume (31K vs 5). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speed Flow sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Type Run sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.2 for Speed Flow against 4.1 for Type Run. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Type Run has 31K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 50% of Speed Flow's written reviews are positive against 21% of Type Run's.

Speed Flow ships an update every 26 months, Type Run fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 3, 2026.
