# Classride vs Captain

The clearest difference is rating: Captain at 5.0 against Classride's 3.9. Captain also leads on ads (none vs shown) and device support (3 vs 1). Classride's advantage is ratings volume (26 vs 1). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Captain holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Classride has 26 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Classride ships an update fortnightly, Captain every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
