# LiDAR Scanner 3D vs Night Vision

The clearest difference is rating: Night Vision at 4.1 against LiDAR Scanner 3D's 3.3. Night Vision also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (521 vs 32). LiDAR Scanner 3D's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and iOS requirement (13.4 vs 18). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. LiDAR Scanner 3D sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Night Vision sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Night Vision holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Night Vision has 521 ratings behind it against 32, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of LiDAR Scanner 3D's written reviews are positive against 35% of Night Vision's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

LiDAR Scanner 3D ships an update every 6 months, Night Vision fortnightly. Both last shipped on November 7, 2026.
