# AcoSound vs Eargo

The clearest difference is rating: AcoSound at 3.5 against Eargo's 3.0. AcoSound also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.4). Eargo's advantage is ratings volume (154 vs 12). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

AcoSound holds the better App Store score, 3.5 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Eargo has 154 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of AcoSound's written reviews are positive against 27% of Eargo's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

AcoSound ships an update every 2 months, Eargo monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
