# AcoSound vs Amplifier

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Amplifier at 77% against AcoSound's 25%. Amplifier also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). AcoSound's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and rating (3.5 vs 3.1). On price, ratings volume, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Amplifier sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. AcoSound asks for nothing beyond the download.

AcoSound holds the better App Store score, 3.5 against 3.1. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 12 and 11 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of AcoSound's written reviews are positive against 77% of Amplifier's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

AcoSound ships an update every 2 months, Amplifier every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
