# ShellBean vs iTerminus

The clearest difference is review sentiment: ShellBean at 86% against iTerminus's 33%. ShellBean also leads on update cadence (every 6 days vs every 2 months). iTerminus's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.1). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ShellBean sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and iTerminus sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

iTerminus holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.1. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 15 and 16 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 86% of ShellBean's written reviews are positive against 33% of iTerminus's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ShellBean ships an update every 6 days, iTerminus every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and September 21, 2026 respectively.
