# CieID vs EtnaID

The clearest difference is ratings volume: CieID at 215 against EtnaID's 14. CieID also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). EtnaID's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 4.2) and update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

EtnaID holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CieID has 215 ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two.

CieID ships an update monthly, EtnaID fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
