# Workchat vs WatchMessage for Messenger

The clearest difference is rating: Workchat at 4.1 against WatchMessage for Messenger's 2.2. WatchMessage for Messenger's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 6 days vs every 2 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Workchat sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and WatchMessage for Messenger sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Workchat holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 2.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WatchMessage for Messenger has 130 ratings behind it against 20, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of Workchat's written reviews are positive against 18% of WatchMessage for Messenger's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Workchat ships an update every 2 months, WatchMessage for Messenger every 6 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
