# Mendel's Quest vs VRChat

Mendel's Quest and VRChat both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Mendel's Quest's written reviews are positive against 46% of VRChat's. Mendel's Quest also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). VRChat's advantage is ratings volume (3.3K vs 30) and update cadence (weekly vs monthly). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mendel's Quest sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and VRChat sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Mendel's Quest holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VRChat has 3.3K ratings behind it against 30, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of Mendel's Quest's written reviews are positive against 46% of VRChat's.

Mendel's Quest ships an update monthly, VRChat weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
