# CheckName vs HitProxy

The clearest difference is rating: CheckName at 4.4 against HitProxy's 3.2. CheckName also leads on iOS requirement (13.2 vs 15.0). HitProxy's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and review sentiment (45% vs 14%). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CheckName sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month. HitProxy asks for nothing beyond the download.

CheckName holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HitProxy has 171 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 14% of CheckName's written reviews are positive against 45% of HitProxy's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

CheckName ships an update every 4 weeks, HitProxy every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
