# Heatwise Studio vs SaltDrop

The clearest difference is monetization model: SaltDrop at free against Heatwise Studio's free with in-app purchases. Heatwise Studio's advantage is ratings volume (693 vs 2) and update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Heatwise Studio against 5.0 for SaltDrop. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Heatwise Studio has 693 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Heatwise Studio ships an update every 4 weeks, SaltDrop every 3 months. Both last shipped on October 11, 2026.
