# Egg vs Tamago

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Tamago at 100% against Egg's 40%. Egg's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (daily vs monthly). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Egg sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Tamago sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Egg holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Egg has 2.4K ratings behind it against 143, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of Egg's written reviews are positive against 100% of Tamago's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Egg ships an update daily, Tamago monthly. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
