# FastCam vs 36Exp

The clearest difference is rating: 36Exp at 5.0 against FastCam's 4.3. FastCam's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 36Exp sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. FastCam asks for nothing beyond the download.

36Exp holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FastCam has 15 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 72% of FastCam's written reviews are positive against 67% of 36Exp's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

FastCam ships an update every 2 weeks, 36Exp every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
