# JourneyNote vs Contrails

The clearest difference is update cadence: Contrails at every 2 days against JourneyNote's every 6 weeks. JourneyNote's advantage is iOS requirement (10.0 vs 16.4). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

JourneyNote ships an update every 6 weeks, Contrails every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
