# TenChat vs Shedevrum

The clearest difference is rating: Shedevrum at 4.8 against TenChat's 4.3. Shedevrum also leads on ratings volume (1.8K vs 63) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs monthly). TenChat's advantage is review sentiment (59% vs 50%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Shedevrum holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Shedevrum has 1.8K ratings behind it against 63, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 59% of TenChat's written reviews are positive against 50% of Shedevrum's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

TenChat ships an update monthly, Shedevrum every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
