# VÓRTEX vs Passcrypt

The clearest difference is update cadence: Passcrypt at every 6 weeks against VÓRTEX's every 16 months. VÓRTEX's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

VÓRTEX ships an update every 16 months, Passcrypt every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
