# NotePlan vs Superlist

The clearest difference is monetization model: Superlist at free with in-app purchases against NotePlan's subscription. Superlist also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs monthly). NotePlan's advantage is review sentiment (85% vs 48%) and rating (4.8 vs 4.5). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NotePlan sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Superlist sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $6.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

NotePlan holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1.5K and 458 respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 85% of NotePlan's written reviews are positive against 48% of Superlist's.

NotePlan ships an update monthly, Superlist every 9 days. Both last shipped on October 15, 2026.
