# NotePlan vs xTiles

The clearest difference is review sentiment: NotePlan at 85% against xTiles's 35%. NotePlan also leads on rating (4.8 vs 3.5) and ratings volume (1.5K vs 125). xTiles's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and update cadence (every 10 days vs monthly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NotePlan sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and xTiles sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $15.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

NotePlan holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NotePlan has 1.5K ratings behind it against 125, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 85% of NotePlan's written reviews are positive against 35% of xTiles's.

NotePlan ships an update monthly, xTiles every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
