# NotePlan vs Todo AI

The clearest difference is monetization model: Todo AI at freemium against NotePlan's subscription. Todo AI also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs monthly) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). NotePlan's advantage is ratings volume (1.5K vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NotePlan sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Todo AI sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Todo AI holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NotePlan has 1.5K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

NotePlan ships an update monthly, Todo AI every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
