# NotePlan vs InkSpace

The clearest difference is monetization model: InkSpace at paid against NotePlan's subscription. InkSpace also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 85%) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs monthly). NotePlan's advantage is ratings volume (1.5K vs 9) and rating (4.8 vs 4.6). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NotePlan sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and InkSpace sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

NotePlan holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NotePlan has 1.5K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 85% of NotePlan's written reviews are positive against 100% of InkSpace's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

NotePlan ships an update monthly, InkSpace every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and September 21, 2026 respectively.
