# NotePlan vs Rooted

The clearest difference is update cadence: Rooted at every 3 days against NotePlan's monthly. NotePlan's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NotePlan sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Rooted sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

NotePlan ships an update monthly, Rooted every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
