# Language Reactor vs Master English

The clearest difference is monetization model: Language Reactor at free with in-app purchases against Master English's subscription. Language Reactor also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). Master English's advantage is review sentiment (78% vs 66%) and chart position (#136 vs unranked). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Language Reactor sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $3.49 per month and Master English sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $13.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Language Reactor against 4.9 for Master English. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Master English has 31K ratings behind it against 3.9K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 66% of Language Reactor's written reviews are positive against 78% of Master English's.

Language Reactor ships an update every 3 weeks, Master English fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
