# Barlleno vs Merca

The clearest difference is monetization model: Merca at free against Barlleno's free with in-app purchases. Merca also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). Barlleno's advantage is ratings volume (322 vs 8). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Barlleno against 5.0 for Merca. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Barlleno has 322 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Barlleno ships an update every 2 months, Merca every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
