# Purity vs AppBlock

The clearest difference is ads: Purity at none against AppBlock's shown. Purity also leads on review sentiment (74% vs 55%) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). AppBlock's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 5 weeks) and ratings volume (6.8K vs 895). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Purity sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and AppBlock sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Purity against 4.6 for AppBlock. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AppBlock has 6.8K ratings behind it against 895, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 74% of Purity's written reviews are positive against 55% of AppBlock's.

Purity ships an update every 5 weeks, AppBlock weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
