# Purity vs MasterTracker

The clearest difference is rating: MasterTracker at 5.0 against Purity's 4.6. Purity's advantage is ratings volume (895 vs 1) and monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs paid). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Purity sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and MasterTracker sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MasterTracker holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Purity has 895 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Purity ships an update every 5 weeks, MasterTracker every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
