# BlabberBuzz vs Western Journal

The clearest difference is ads: BlabberBuzz at none against Western Journal's shown. BlabberBuzz also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.6). Western Journal's advantage is rating (4.2 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (81 vs 8). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Western Journal holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Western Journal has 81 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of BlabberBuzz's written reviews are positive against 30% of Western Journal's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

BlabberBuzz ships an update every 5 months, Western Journal every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
