# ABCHESS vs Chess Puzzles Set

The clearest difference is ads: Chess Puzzles Set at none against ABCHESS's shown. Chess Puzzles Set also leads on rating (4.5 vs 4.3) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 13.0). ABCHESS's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (14 vs 2). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ABCHESS sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Chess Puzzles Set sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Chess Puzzles Set holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ABCHESS has 14 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

ABCHESS ships an update monthly, Chess Puzzles Set every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
