# Talking Scripts vs For the Plot

The clearest difference is rating: For the Plot at 5.0 against Talking Scripts's 4.2. Talking Scripts's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (23 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Talking Scripts sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and For the Plot sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

For the Plot holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Talking Scripts has 23 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Talking Scripts ships an update weekly, For the Plot every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
